Just as you have expectations for your stay, so do we and the following terms are important when you stay at Skippers Cove Resort.
Booking with us will indicate your acceptance of these. Please read carefully.
Deposit / Final Payment of Balance
Final payment is required 30 days before arrival or full payment is due when booking if you are arriving within 30 days.
Cancellation / No Show Policy
Payment(s) are non-refundable or changeable should a guest cancel or amend a booking within 30 days of stay. There is a fee to cancel as advised on the guest’s confirmation email. We recommend guests take travel insurance. There is no refund or credit for early departure.
Unit Keys Lost or Not Returned
It is a guests’ responsibility to care for our keys. All keys must be returned to reception. Loss of any key/s will incur a charge of $50 per key.
Uplift of the key to your apartment is acceptance of the Body Corporate By-Laws and Regulations and the booking conditions stated in this letter.
Guest Capacity
For tariff and safety purposes, we appreciate guests’ honesty declaring the number of guests staying. We permit 4 guests including children in a 2-bedroom unit, 5 guests including children in a 2-bedroom Riverview Unit and 6 including children in a 3-bedroom unit. There may be a few occasions where we consent to 5 in a 2-bedroom unit and 7 in a 3-bedroom unit and accordingly charge a fee for the additional guest and this is at our absolute discretion. If a guest/occupant allows more than the stipulated number of people in their apartment they will be asked to vacate the apartment immediately with NO refund.
Parking on Resort Grounds
Each unit has one designated undercover car space. Additional vehicles are to be parked in the streets surrounding the resort, or in visitor parking.
Guest Requests
Guests are important to us and we try to meet our guests’ requests. While requests for unit location and style or specific unit numbers are welcome, regretfully the resort is not able to guarantee requests.
Noise
Noisy, unruly behaviour will not be tolerated in or around the complex after 9pm, especially in the pool area. Management reserves the right to terminate occupancy for inappropriate behaviour in apartments or around the complex.
Guests Over 18
Guests must all be over 18 years unless they are travelling with a legal guardian or parent and the definition we apply is as per the Queensland Liquor Act 1992. School leaver celebrations are unable to be booked at this resort and we advise that entry will be refused, and any payment forfeited.
BBQ’s
The Body Corporate by-laws prohibit any guest using or storing gas BBQs on either decks, balconies, courtyards or common property of the complex. Refer to Item 10.1 Storage of Flammable Liquids in the by-laws.
Kayak & Swimming Pool Use
Guest acknowledges that in using any Skippers Cove Kayaks, guest agrees that guest and company are competent in the use of such equipment and are totally responsible for their own wellbeing and safety. Guest agrees to ensuring guest and all parties involved will use the provided life jackets at Skippers Cove Resort.
Guest acknowledges that there is no lifeguard at Skippers Cove Resort and should guest or any guests in group choose to use the pools, spa and/or beach, they do so at their own risk.
Animals
No animals are allowed on the premises, subject to legislation regarding registered assistance animals. Guests could face eviction. All animals brought on premises will incur an excess clean and pest treatment charged at a minimum of $350.
Extra cleaning / Damages and Loss of property
If the apartment or any of the chattels is left in a state that requires extra cleaning on departure, a charge will be added to the guest credit card determined on the amount of cleaning required over and above the normal departure clean. All dishes must be loaded into the dishwasher which is to be run and all rubbish removed from the apartment. Failure to do so will incur a $60 charge to the guest’s credit card after departure.
Guest will be liable for payment of any charges incurred by any guest together with all replacements & necessary costs for any damage or loss to the apartment & its contents or the Body Corporate property caused by any guest/occupant.
Neither the Body Corporate, the Manager nor the apartment owner is liable for any damage or loss of property that a Guest may sustain while on the complex.
Additional Charges
All extra costs incurred during guest stay must be settled with the manager before departure. Any costs unpaid on departure will be charged to the guest’s credit card with a minimum charge of $20.00 being applied.
If the guest does not have a credit card which is required before apartment keys are handed over to the guest, a security bond of $200.00 may be required at the time of guest check in.
If the guest is checking in After Hours and the Manager is required to complete an After Hours check in for a guest in who does not have a credit card, a $60.00 After Hours call out charge may apply.
The by-laws, rules and regulations of the complex and any reasonable direction of the Manager must be complied with. The apartment must be vacated if after receiving a warning, any Guest fails to comply with that warning.
